William Rhodes Island Park is located along the scenic Winnebago River. Here you can view the Fertile Dam as well as the Rhodes Mill, recognized as a national historic landmark.

Two shelter houses, a wood burning fireplace, and an original grinding stone from the mill, are the center pieces of this wonderful park.

Come spend a lazy afternoon seeing the sites, cooking over a wood fire, and fishing in one of the area’s best Walleye hot spots.

If you prefer more activity, our tennis court, basketball court, horseshoe pits, and playground equipment should suffice. Don’t forget to make it a picnic. Charcoal grills and picnic tables are also available for your enjoyment.

 

Wildlife Areas

Brunsvold – Haugen Timber Area
19 Acres – 2 miles North West of Fertile.

 

Story Wildlife Area
4 Acres South of Fertile on the Winnebago River with access from the river only.

 

Wally’s Woods
73 Acres on mile East ½ mile South of Fertile. A combination of river bottom timber, upland oak and grassland. The Winnebago River flows on the North Edge.
